Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will provide specialised nursing support within the orthodontic department, ensuring high standards of patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental health and patient wellbeing to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
Assist orthodontists during patient consultations and procedures, including fitting braces and appliances
Provide comprehensive patient care, including explaining procedures and post-treatment instructions
Take and develop dental radiographs as required
Manage patient records accurately and update treatment plans accordingly
Support patients throughout their visits, ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns
Maintain stock levels of dental supplies and organise clinical materials efficiently
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting is preferred
Knowledge of human anatomy relevant to orthodontic treatments is desirable
Excellent communication skills with the ability to reassure and inform patients effectively
Organised with strong attention to detail in record keeping and clinical tasks
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Relevant qualifications in dental nursing or equivalent recognised certification is essential
A compassionate approach combined with professionalism and discretion
