Job Title: General Labourer/Skilled Labourer
Chesworth Construction Ltd is a fast-growing, family-run construction company delivering a wide range of high-quality projects across Mid Wales. We’re looking to hire a General Labourer/Skilled Labourer to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is punctual, hardworking, and has a positive attitude, with the ability to carry out both general labouring and semi-skilled construction tasks. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, able to follow instructions, and take pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment. We need someone who is practical, solution-focused, and doesn’t shy away from getting the job done, even when things get tough.
The Role:
Depending upon your skills and experience, you’ll be carrying out a variety of tasks on public and private sector construction projects, such as, but not limited to;
- Carrying out tasks as directed by the site manager or supervisor
- Manual labour and handling materials
- Assisting skilled trades across various tasks
- Mixing and preparing materials (e.g., cement, mortar, plaster)
- Setting up, clearing, and maintaining the site
- Organising and cleaning tools after use
- Carrying out general demolition and strip-out work
- Assisting with structural alterations
- Using power tools and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, etc)
- Keeping the work environment clean and organised, regularly clearing debris, managing construction waste, and ensuring proper storage of tools and materials for safety and efficiency
- Assisting with Banksman duties, including directing plant and machinery on site
- Blocklaying/Bricklaying (if applicable)
- Groundworks (if applicable)
- General Carpentry (if applicable)
Requirements:
- Experience in the construction industry (preferable)
- Hold a valid CSCS card (or be willing to obtain one)
- Willing to travel between current sites
- Personal transportation required
