Administrative Assistant – Millway House Nursing Home
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our welcoming care home team at Millway House. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting our residents, families, and staff while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
As the first point of contact, you will provide a warm and professional welcome to visitors, manage telephone and email enquiries, and support the Home Manager with a wide range of administrative duties. Your responsibilities will include recruitment administration, maintaining staff records, rota and holiday management, filing, resident and relative communications, and helping to coordinate events and surveys. You will also ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and contribute to creating a positive, well-organised environment for everyone.

Previous experience in an administrative or office support role (experience in care or healthcare is desirable but not essential).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and professional manner.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to learn new systems quickly.

Completing audits and ensuring they are kept up to date.

Taking minutes at meetings.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records and documentation.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Friendly, approachable, and committed to providing excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.

Understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant care home administration systems (e.g. CoolCare and rota management systems).

Experience supporting recruitment and HR administration.
