Accounts and Administration Executive

Location: SkyPark, Exeter
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Accounts and Administration Executive to join our growing team based at SkyPark, Exeter.

This is a varied role that combines responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the business with general office administration and support for our project delivery team. You'll play a key part in keeping the business running efficiently, ensuring financial records are accurate, office processes are well managed and project administration is completed to a high standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a diverse role, takes pride in their attention to detail and thrives in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounts

Maintain the company's day-to-day accounts using Sage.
Process purchase and sales invoices.
Carry out bank reconciliations.
Manage credit control and monitor outstanding payments.
Liaise with our Accountant to assist with preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Complete CIS returns.
Process payroll.
Assist with month-end procedures.
Liaise with the company's external accountants.
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

Office Administration

Answer telephone calls and manage incoming emails.
Maintain filing systems and company records.
Order office supplies and manage stationery.
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
Assist with general administrative tasks as required.

Project Administration

Create and maintain project files.
Raise purchase orders and assist with procurement administration.
Monitor project costs and maintain project records.
Process labour timesheets.
Manage subcontractor documentation.
Prepare project documentation for internal and client use.
Provide administrative support to the project management team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

Experienced in accounts administration with a minimum of two years' relevant experience.
Confident using Sage accounting software.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Able to prioritise work and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proactive, reliable and self-motivated.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team.
Competent using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Desirable

Previous experience within the construction, fit-out or contracting sector.
Knowledge of CIS and VAT processes.
