As an Arborist with GLM, you will play a key role in the safe removal and management of vegetation and trees, supporting the upkeep and improvement of outdoor environments for our clients. Based in Bedfordshire, we work with a diverse client base across public, commercial, and private sectors, and we are expanding our skilled team to meet demand.
As our Arborist, you will:
- Carry out all tasks to a high and safe standard, following internal procedures and industry best practice.
- Operate and maintain the plant, tools, and equipment needed for each job, ensuring excellent care and attention to upkeep.
- Climb and work at height as required, providing aerial rescue support to colleagues when necessary.
- Work in accordance with risk assessments, task briefings, and safe systems of work.
- Remove hazardous trees, clear vegetation, and support wider vegetation management activities.
- Respond appropriately and professionally to queries from clients and site occupants, escalating issues when necessary.
- Recent hands-on experience in vegetation management, arboriculture, or a related field.
- Certification relevant to arboriculture and safety (e.g., FA/CPD-accredited training, or equivalent). If applicable, qualifications such as Aerial Rescue may be required.
- Chainsaw competencies (CS30, CS31, CS38 &CS39) or equivalent training.
- Experience using brushcutters, strimmers and/or chippers.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, with a practical approach to problem-solving.
