Full job description

Looking to start your career in property management? We are seeking an ambitious Trainee Property Manager to join our Residential Property Management team based in our Oxford office. You will play a key role in our growth and development, receiving training and support to meet set targets. You will manage a portfolio of let properties throughout the entire rental process, from inventory and schedule of condition (check-in) to tenancy termination (check-out), ensuring all departmental targets are met.

We offer the flexibility to work from home one day per week with working hours from 9.00am to 5.30pm.

The successful candidate will join our Oxford Lettings team, working alongside a close-knit team of 11 professionals and in collaboration with our Sales teams. As part of our vibrant Oxford office, comprising of more than 100 colleagues across our key divisions, you will benefit from being part of an exciting and supportive working environment. Main tasks:

Manage portfolio of c. 70 properties
Dealing with maintenance requests and arranging repairs and improvements
Completing property inspections
Assist with the co-ordination of the relevant safety checks with specialist contractors and recording the valid documentation on a central database.
Liaise regularly with the finance departments including monitoring financial activity, requesting funds, authorising invoices and budgeting for planned works.
Liaise with external parties such as insurance brokers, building surveyors and specialist consultants.
Consistently maintain a high standard of record keeping, update and maximise the use of databases to ensure accuracy in file management, communications and compliance.

What will it take to be successful?

To be successful in this role, you will have an interest in the property industry and demonstrate a professional, customer focused approach. You will be a strong administrator and have good organisational skills. You will have the ability to take the initiative in a confident and personable manner, be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills. You will also be numerate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
