About the Role:

We are looking for a Lead Solutions Architect who can define technical direction across digital transformation, web, ecommerce, cloud, and enterprise integration projects. You will work closely with clients, delivery teams, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that every proposed solution is technically sound, commercially realistic, and aligned with long-term business goals.
This is a senior technical position with responsibility for architecture, technical governance, and solution quality. You will guide development teams, support major client engagements, and help shape the technology standards used across our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture:
Design secure, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions based on business requirements, technical constraints, delivery timelines, and budget considerations.
Technical Discovery:
Lead technical discovery sessions with clients and internal stakeholders. Translate business needs into clear architecture proposals, solution diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
Architecture Governance:
Establish and maintain architecture principles, integration standards, documentation practices, security requirements, and technical review processes.
Technology Selection:
Evaluate platforms, frameworks, cloud services, third-party products, and integration approaches. Recommend technologies based on performance, cost, reliability, scalability, and long-term support.
Delivery Support:
Work closely with programme managers, product teams, developers, DevOps engineers, and quality assurance specialists throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Technical Leadership:
Provide guidance to software engineers and technical leads. Review solution designs, identify technical risks, and support teams in resolving complex architecture and integration challenges.
Client Engagement:
Present technical recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders in a clear and commercially aware manner. Explain technical trade-offs without relying on unnecessary jargon.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure solutions follow appropriate security, data protection, availability, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management:
Identify architecture risks, technical dependencies, performance limitations, and delivery constraints at an early stage. Recommend practical mitigation plans.
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor emerging technologies and recommend improvements to internal architecture standards, development practices, cloud environments, and delivery methods.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, cloud solutions, technical consulting, or digital delivery, including experience leading the design of complex technology solutions.
Architecture Knowledge:
Strong understanding of application architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, system integration, data flows, security, scalability, performance, and high-availability design.
Cloud Experience:
Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or a comparable enterprise cloud environment.
Technical Background:
Strong knowledge of modern web applications, content management systems, ecommerce platforms, databases, microservices, APIs, DevOps practices, and software delivery lifecycles.
Leadership:
Experience providing technical direction, mentoring engineers, reviewing architecture proposals, and supporting multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Stakeholder Management:
Confidence working with clients, technical teams, project managers, commercial stakeholders, and senior decision-makers.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. You must be able to produce clear architecture documentation and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

You are analytical, commercially aware, and pragmatic. You understand when a solution requires long-term architectural investment and when a simpler approach will deliver better value.
Pay: £4,644.00-£6,225.00 per month
