Job Overview:

We are a fast-growing, engineer-led compliance and electrical contractor delivering high-quality fire, security, and life safety services across Cornwall & Devon. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team.

Department/Location: Throughout Devon & Cornwall – On the road

Reporting to: (Supervisor/manager) Dean Rushton – Delivery Manager

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm – 40 hours per week.

Salary & Benefits: £27,040 – £29,120 starting salary

Main Responsibilities:

Assist engineers onsite with installations, servicing, and maintenance
Learn fault finding and diagnostic procedures
Support planned preventative maintenance visits
Use mobile/job management software effectively
Complete paperwork and documentation accurately
Take site photos and maintain job records
Communicate professionally with customers and clients
Maintain tools, equipment, and van stock
Follow company procedures and safety standards
Work towards industry qualifications and technical development
Progress towards working independently over time
