Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to fabricate and assemble components using various hand and power tools. This role requires attention to detail, as well as proficiency in stick welding and working with sheet metal.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Manage welding work and ensure compliance to all specifications
- Create quality welds according to blue prints (weld symbols)
- Able to read and work to engineering drawings
- Team working
- Verbal and written communication
- Prioritising skills and methodical work planning
- Problem solving
Ability to:
- Work under pressure to required deadlines
- Ability to work on own imitative and as part of a team
Desirable
- Proven welder/fabrication competency skills and certificates including coded welding certifications
- Able to use different weld materials as required for both ferrous and non ferrous materials
- Can demonstrate experience of commercial welding and working in association with maintenance engineering.
- Holds a full valid driving license
Qualifications
Essential - A good level of education to GCSE standard in numeracy and literacy. Has served a recognised apprenticeship in a welding or other related discipline.
Desirable - IT skills – knowledge of Microsoft products would be a bonus as would previous experience of using a tablet to access schedules and upload certificates/paperwork
