Therapeutic Services Facilitator

Longmead Community Farm, Milborne St Andrew, Dorset (DT11 0HU)

Salary

£15.00–£17.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Hours

7.5 hours per week

Some evening, weekend and school holiday working will be required.

Help Children, Young People and Families Thrive Through Nature and Wellbeing

Longmead Community Farm is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Therapeutic Services Facilitator to join our growing Therapeutic Services Team.

Based on our beautiful 6-acre community farm in North Dorset, this role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful therapeutic and wellbeing activities that help children, young people and families build confidence, resilience, emotional wellbeing and positive relationships through nature-based and creative experiences.

Working alongside our Therapeutic Services and Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will play an important role in delivering engaging and supportive programmes that make a real difference to the lives of local children, young people and families.

About the Role

You will:

Deliver therapeutic and wellbeing activities for children, young people and families.
Facilitate small-group sessions, workshops and wellbeing programmes.
Support nature-based activities including gardening, outdoor learning and environmental projects.
Help deliver Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) and other school holiday programmes.
Encourage confidence, resilience, social connection and emotional wellbeing.
Build positive relationships with children, young people, families and carers.
Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programme outcomes.
Promote safeguarding, inclusion and positive wellbeing throughout all activities.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Experience working with children, young people and/or families.
Experience delivering activities, workshops or group sessions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of safeguarding principles.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive, engaging and supportive approach.
Passion for helping children, young people and families achieve positive outcomes.

Desirable

Qualification in counselling, wellbeing, youth work, therapeutic practice, education, family support or outdoor learning.
Forest School, horticultural therapy or nature-based wellbeing experience.
First Aid qualification.
Mental Health First Aid qualification.
Experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
