Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety and well-being within a professional environment. Prior pharmacy technician experience and knowledge of medication administration are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirements
Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, packaging, and labelling
Provide clear guidance and information to patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as necessary
Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication management

Experience

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors in dispensing medication
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
