S&B Automotive Academy has been a trusted leader in automotive training since 1970, offering comprehensive programs across a wide range of disciplines including light vehicle, heavy vehicle, bus and coach, parts, body repair, paint, and auto-electrical. Our state-of-the-art facilities feature specialized workshops, diagnostic equipment, and commercial spray booths to support hands-on learning and skill development.

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Paint Technician to join our team at Bristol Bubbles. In this role, you will gain practical experience working with panel repair and refurbishment processes. You will develop your mechanical skills by assisting with panel fitting, sanding, and finishing tasks while adhering to safety standards. This paid apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to build a foundation for a career in automotive bodywork and panel technology.

Tasks the successful candidate can be expected to carry out:

Repair of minor scratches and dents
Preparation of new and repaired panels for refinishing
Preparing vehicle surfaces for masking and priming
Paint refinishing techniques paint detailing
Paint detailing and buffing
Polishing the paintwork of the panel to a suitable finish

How the apprentice will train

The apprenticeship training is delivered via weekly block releases at S&B throughout a year, learning will also take place in the workplace and a S&B Development Coach and Workplace Mentor are allocated to support and monitor your progress to help you reach your goals and manage your workload. Your employer will pay you when you are attending weekly training blocks at S&B.

To be considered for this apprenticeship you must have GCSEs, Functional Skills or Key Skills at grade C/4 or above in English and maths (or equivalent), If your grades are below this, we will discuss your options for taking functional skills in Maths and/or English. As well as this, predicated grades are accepted, and work experience or knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

As a result you will receive the following:

Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Apprenticeship Standard
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if a GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent has not already been achieved)

Pay: £8.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
