Experienced Barista / Café Team Member - Love All Tennis Café | Eastbourne
Love All Tennis Café is one of Eastbourne’s busiest and most loved independent cafés, set in the beautiful surroundings of Gildredge Park.
We serve thousands of customers each month and have built an excellent local reputation for quality, community, customer service and great coffee.
We are now looking for a skilled, confident and experienced Barista / Café Team Member to join our team.
The Role
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-volume café.
We need someone who is already confident on the coffee machine and able to deliver consistently excellent coffee from day one.
You will be preparing high-quality coffees and hot drinks, serving customers, supporting food service, keeping the café clean and well presented, and helping create the warm, professional atmosphere our customers know us for.
This is not a “coffee only” role. We are a proper team environment, and everyone mucks in wherever needed.
Hours
5 days per week, including one weekend day.
20-hour minimum contract, with consistent 35–42 hours per week available year-round.
Daytime shifts only.
Non-Negotiables
Strong barista experience.
Confident working on the machine during busy service.
Good latte art skills.
High standards and attention to detail.
Calm, friendly and professional under pressure.
A flexible, team-first attitude.
If you are not already confident on the machine in a busy café environment, this role will not be the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing consistently excellent coffees and hot drinks.
Serving customers in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
Taking orders and using the till.
Running food and drinks to tables.
Clearing tables and helping maintain customer areas.
Supporting wash-up and general café duties when needed.
Restocking, cleaning and following daily checklists.
Following food hygiene, health and safety and café procedures.
Helping maintain high standards across coffee quality, cleanliness, presentation and teamwork.
About You
You will already have experience as a barista in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality setting.
You are friendly, reliable and calm under pressure.
You take pride in your coffee, notice the small details and care about the customer experience.
You work well as part of a team, support others and are happy to step in wherever the business needs you most.
You will have a “no that’s not my job” mindset and take pride in helping the café run smoothly.
