Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Extrusion Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion equipment to produce high-quality Silicone extrusions
. Your expertise will help ensure efficient production processes, adherence to safety standards, and continuous improvement of product quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced fabrication tools and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions.
Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machinery to produce specified profiles according to technical drawings and production schedules
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Adjust machine parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize product quality and process efficiency
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools for tooling design and modifications when necessary
- Handle materials safely, including loading raw materials into the extruder and managing finished products in the warehouse or assembly areas
- Use hand tools, welding equipment, milling machines, and other fabrication tools for component assembly or repairs
- Maintain detailed documentation of production runs, quality checks, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, materials handling, or manufacturing environments with a focus on extrusion processes
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with tooling, welding, milling, and assembly techniques
- Strong understanding of CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for designing or modifying tooling components
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and material quantities
- Warehouse experience is a plus for managing inventory of raw materials and finished goods efficiently
- Excellent hand tool skills combined with mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairs
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding, fabrication, and materials handling
