Unibloc have successfully trained several apprentices through SIGTA programmes and are now recruiting an apprentice for CNC Turning, CNC Milling (vertical) and CNC Milling (Horizontal). In this varied apprenticeship you will learn to set programme and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to produce high-precision components.

ST1305 Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard
Tasks and Training details
Your main duties in this wide-ranging apprenticeship will be:
- Setting CNC Machining centres to achieve first off approval.
- Operation of CNC Machining centres.
- Deburring of components using conventional machinery.
- Metrology – component inspection.
- Updating Planning sheets, job packs and tooling location.
- Carry out production in accordance with all quality procedures and customers’ requirements.
- Housekeeping of workstations areas.
- Compliance with Unibloc Health & Safety procedures

Weekly working hours: Core hours: Monday – Thursday 0730 -1630, Friday 0630 –1230 (40 hours) If under 18 years of age: 0800 – 1630, Friday 0630:1130
Total working hours - 38 if under 18/40 18 plus
Pay rate – weekly or per annum
£9.00 per hour £342 pw 17784 pa for under 18 years (38 hours per week) or £360 pw/18720 for over 18 (40 hours per week)

Qualifications: Essential
5 x GCSE at Grade 4/5 (C) and above including English and maths.
Qualifications: Desirable
Science GCSE Grade 4/5 and above an advantage.
Training to be provided:
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualifications;
- EAL L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge) Level: 3
- Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering NVQ (Level 3 Diploma)
The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.
