Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised Post Office Counter Clerk (Mobile) to provide efficient postal services across various locations. This role involves handling customer transactions, managing postal operations, and ensuring excellent service delivery in a mobile setting. The successful candidate will possess strong administrative skills, be comfortable working independently, and demonstrate excellent communication abilities. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to community service while developing valuable clerical and organisational expertise.

Duties

Assist customers with postal transactions including mailing parcels, selling stamps, and processing packages
Manage cash register operations accurately and efficiently
Maintain organised records of transactions using computer software
Provide information on postal services and answer customer queries with professional etiquette
Ensure the security and confidentiality of customer data through precise data entry and record keeping
Organise daily schedules for mobile service routes and ensure timely arrival at designated locations
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, updating databases, and managing inventory of postal supplies
Uphold high standards of organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities across different sites

Requirements

Proven office experience or administrative background is preferred
Strong computer skills would be an advantage
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good typing speed and accuracy for efficient data entry
Previous clerical experience is advantageous
Demonstrated customer service skills
Ability to work independently in a mobile environment with minimal supervision
Organised with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all transactions and record keeping
A background in Post Office would be an advantage
Full and clean driving license
Previous experience driving a light goods vehicle an advantage
