Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills within the hospitality sector, working in a fast-paced environment that values efficiency and professionalism. The position is suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a team, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service throughout their visit.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required, adhering to food safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, equipment, and utensils in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Manage cash register operations, including processing payments accurately and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Engage with customers to create a welcoming environment, addressing any special requests or dietary requirements with professionalism.
Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to ensure the safety of both staff and customers.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene is highly desirable.
Strong serving skills with an emphasis on delivering excellent customer service.
Basic food preparation skills with attention to detail.
Good time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently without compromising quality.
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling purposes.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour to engage positively with customers and team members.
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required; punctuality is essential.
