Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Class 1 or 2 Recovery Driver/Technician to join our team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles to recover and transport vehicles, providing technical assistance, and ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 or 2 lorries, including flatbed trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle inspections prior to and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Assist with vehicle recovery using appropriate techniques and equipment, including winches and specialised tools.
- Manage delivery of recovered vehicles to designated locations, ensuring timely and secure transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of all recoveries, deliveries, and related activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and dispatch to coordinate operations smoothly.
- Perform basic mechanical assessments and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times during recovery operations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in recovery or delivery roles.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic repair techniques is desirable.
- Experience operating flatbed lorries or similar heavy vehicles preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining high safety standards.

Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
