Role: Transport Supervisor - Pontypool
Based: Clarence Corner, Pontypool
Position Reports To Group Transport Manager
Job Purpose: To lead the day to day demands of the transport dept to ensure maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Job Description:
- Liaising with other departments regarding special services
- Oversee general driver duties and escalate to Transport Manager where necessary
- Provide driver cover when required to cover sickness and special deliveries
- To monitor drivers day to day tasks
- To monitor vehicle mileage and keep detailed records of routes covered to allow measurement of route efficiencies.
- To assist and proactively promote the standard of driver performance and ensure working in accordance with manuals and processes.
- Ensure productivity stays above the minimum company standard in terms of KG being delivered per hour
- Liaising with production and office to ensure efficient service
- To drive safely within the law at all times
- Ensure daily van safety checks are carried out
- Prepare / organise linen for loading and assist with timely vehicle departures
- Work alongside other departments to ensure vehicles and working areas are kept safe and tidy

Package:
- Full time (approx 39) hrs varied hours between 6am - 6pm (occasional overtime at time and a half)
- Bonus Scheme. Depending on performance in terms of flexibility, quality of work, productivity and training.
- Statutory 28 days Holiday
- Nest Pension scheme
- £15.50 per hour (If successful after 3 month review pay increase to £15.96)
