Cardiff and Vale College is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support the quality and continuous improvement of our Electrotechnical Installation apprenticeship provision.
This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional with strong quality assurance experience to play a key role in maintaining high standards across apprenticeship delivery. You will work closely with assessors, apprentices and employers to ensure assessment practices are robust, compliant and aligned with awarding organisation requirements and industry expectations.
As an Internal Quality Assurer, you will monitor, review and evaluate assessment practices across the Electrotechnical Installation apprenticeship pathway, ensuring consistency, fairness and compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
You will sample assessment decisions, provide coaching and developmental support to assessors, contribute to standardisation activities and maintain accurate quality assurance records and documentation.
The role also involves supporting external quality assurance activity, preparing for audits and compliance checks, and working collaboratively with employers, apprentices and Work-Based Learning colleagues to promote outstanding learner outcomes.
You will be a technically competent electrician with relevant industry qualifications and experience within the electrotechnical sector.
You will have a recognised IQA qualification, assessor qualification and a strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and quality assurance requirements. You will be confident providing constructive feedback and supporting others to improve assessment practice.
Strong organisational, communication and digital skills are essential, along with the ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and remotely where required.
