Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Picker & Relief Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves selecting and packing items accurately within a busy warehouse environment, as well as providing relief driving support to ensure timely deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials efficiently, operating relevant equipment, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in materials handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse management systems.
Picking & Loading
- Pick all orders accurately, working from the pick sheets provided.
- Load vans in a consistent, organised way — following the method set by the Supervisor.
- Check quantities, products, and any customer-specific requirements as you pick.
- Handle chilled and temperature-sensitive products correctly at all times.
Order Accuracy & Queries
- Pick to the correct quantities — if in doubt, check with the Supervisor before loading.
- Flag any discrepancies, missing stock, or short picks to the Picking Supervisor straight away.
- Do not substitute products without authorisation from the Supervisor.
Relief Driving
- Appointees must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
- You may be required to carry out local delivery runs to cover driver sickness or holidays.
- Represent Ochil Foods professionally on the road and at customer premises at all times.
Health, Safety & Food Hygiene
- Carry out all work safely and in line with Ochil Foods’ policies.
- Wear correct PPE and safety footwear at all times.
- Follow food hygiene standards throughout — particularly for chilled and ambient stock.
- Report any accidents, near-misses, or hazards to the Picking Supervisor immediately.
Warehouse & Stock
- Keep your working area tidy, organised, and safe throughout the shift.
- Support correct stock rotation — first in, first out.
- Flag any damaged or short-delivered goods to the Supervisor.
- Assist with stock counts as and when required.

- Someone who takes pride in accuracy and does not cut corners.
- Happy working early mornings and physical, hands-on work.
- Able to follow instructions clearly and communicate any issues to the Supervisor.
- Full, clean UK driving licence — essential.
- Previous warehouse or picking experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be given.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely (up to 25kg or more) on a regular basis
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record for relief driving duties
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
