We are seeking a commercially driven individual with strong experience leading strategic client relationships and digital marketing performance. The ideal candidate will enjoy building long-term partnerships with clients, leading high-level marketing direction and helping businesses achieve meaningful results through digital marketing.
As a Digital Marketing Account Director, you will play a senior role within the account management function, leading a portfolio of key client accounts and ensuring strong alignment between client goals, campaign strategy, delivery teams and commercial performance.
You will provide strategic oversight across client accounts, support the wider Account Management team, help resolve complex challenges and contribute towards the continued development of both client performance and internal standards.
This role focuses on strategic leadership, commercial performance, client growth and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership: Lead a portfolio of key client accounts, providing strategic direction and ensuring marketing activity remains aligned with business objectives, commercial priorities and long-term growth.
Commercial Ownership: Take ownership of account performance across a portfolio of clients, ensuring campaigns remain commercially sustainable, strategically effective and delivering long-term value for both clients and the agency.
Client Partnership & Senior Stakeholder Management: Build strong senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic partner and leading high-level conversations around business performance, opportunities, challenges and future direction.
Marketing Strategy: Work closely with clients and internal specialists to shape multi-channel digital marketing strategies that support wider business goals and commercial objectives.
Account Growth & Development: Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand client relationships through improved strategy, service development and cross-channel opportunities that genuinely support client growth.
Leadership & Team Development: Support and mentor the wider Account Management team, helping maintain strong standards across client accounts, improving strategic thinking and assisting with complex client situations where required.
Operational & Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and delivery teams to ensure campaigns are well coordinated, priorities are clear and client expectations remain aligned with internal capacity and commercial goals.
Issue Resolution & Escalation: Act as a senior escalation point for complex client or campaign challenges, helping drive solutions and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
The ideal candidate would have experience in the following:
- Proven experience as a Senior Account Manager, Account Director or similar role within a digital agency
- Strong experience managing strategic client relationships and digital marketing campaigns
- Experience leading high-level marketing discussions with senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance client success with business profitability
- Experience mentoring or supporting Account Managers and helping maintain strong account standards
- Ability to guide multi-channel digital marketing strategy across a variety of industries
- Experience communicating campaign performance, commercial impact and strategic recommendations to clients
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Highly organised and comfortable working in a busy agency environment
Candidates do not need to be specialists in every marketing channel, but should have a strong understanding of how digital marketing channels work together.
Understanding or experience with the following areas is beneficial:

- Paid Media (Google Ads / Paid Social)
