Job Summary
We are an 18th century, family-run 17 bedroomed hotel located in the market place of Spalding. Our bar is popular with shoppers in the day time and those looking to socialise on an evening.
We are looking for friendly bar staff to join our team. For the perfect candidate, with experience, guaranteed hours are available.
You will be based between both venues (The Red Lion and The South Holland Centre) so some shifts can be very busy if serving for functions/panto and can be up to a midnight finish - so please ensure you have appropriate transport to accommodate this before applying. You must also be available to work high volume days such as Bank Holidays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day etc.
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring attention to detail.
- Provide recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, adhering to food safety standards.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring timely delivery to guests.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including tables and service stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely order fulfilment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing payments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on guest services and hospitality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing time efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
- Basic culinary skills are beneficial for assisting with food preparation tasks.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
