Job Description – Management Accountant

Reports to: Fractional Finance Director / CEO Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Location: Eastbourne, Sussex

Benefits: Salary range £40k-£50k, pension scheme and holiday entitlement, and an opportunity to grow with a supportive and expanding care company.

About us:

We are a fast-growing care company providing high-quality services to the community. We are seeking a Management Accountant to manage the day-to-day finance function.

Job Role:

This is a key role working closely with the Fractional Finance Director and the CEO, providing accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment.

Main Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
Produce budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Monitor financial performance, profitability, and key business KPIs.
Oversee sales invoicing, credit control, and supplier payments.
Oversee payroll.
Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
Support year-end accounts.
Managing a small team.
Provide financial support to operational managers.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential:

Qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
Confident & proficient user of cloud accounting software (QuickBooks) and Excel.
Hands on and highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
Ability to quickly grow into a Financial Controller role as the company grows.

Desirable:

Experience in the care sector
Developing new systems and processes.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
