D Horne Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Civils Groundworker / Multi‑Skilled Plant Operator to join our team based in Pinmore, South Ayrshire. The role involves supporting a wide range of civils, utilities, forestry and rural infrastructure projects across South‑West Scotland, the Central Belt and Dumfries & Galloway, including windfarm maintenance works.
We are looking for reliable, skilled individuals who take pride in their work, operate safely, and work well within a small team across varied and remote environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out windfarm maintenance works and access road upkeep
- Install ducting, utilities and general infrastructure
- Complete concreting tasks including slab preparation, bases, shuttering, pouring and finishing
- Support forestry road construction and rural civils
- Perform fencing, reinstatement and general groundworks
- Operate excavators, dumpers, rollers, tractors and other site plant
- Work safely and professionally on remote and rural sites
- Conduct daily plant checks and basic maintenance
- Install drainage systems (deep and shallow)
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundworks, civils or rural infrastructure
- Skills in concreting, utilities, forestry roads or windfarm works
- Competent operating a range of plant machinery
- Valid NPORS or CPCS certification
- Full UK driving licence
- Two recent work references
- Strong teamwork, communication and reliability
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions and remote locations
- A safety‑focused approach and pride in workmanship
