Overview
We are seeking experienced early years professionals with strong leadership skills, a commitment to high-quality practice, and a secure understanding of safeguarding and/or SEND. Applicants should hold a minimum Level 3 childcare and education qualification. A Level 2 maths qualification is required for managers, or must be achieved within two years of starting the role. Updated Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding / Child Protection and Safer Recruitment training would be advantageous. To jointly lead and manage the preschool alongside the Inclusion and SEN Manager, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality curriculum that supports all children to make excellent progress. The Curriculum and Safeguarding Manager will take lead responsibility for curriculum design, implementation and quality assurance, supporting staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences. They will also act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the setting.
The post holder will primarily be outside of the preschool room undertaking leadership responsibilities. Operational flexibility will be required to work within the room supporting staff and children and the Inclusion and SEN Manager as required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and review engaging curriculum materials aligned with organisational goals and educational standards.
- Implement safeguarding policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and organisational procedures.
- Conduct regular safeguarding audits and provide guidance on best practices for staff and volunteers.
- Monitor the effectiveness of curriculum content through feedback and assessment data, making improvements as necessary.
- Lead safeguarding training sessions for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to promote awareness and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records related to safeguarding incidents, training completion, and curriculum updates.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or educational programme development.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with safeguarding policies, procedures, and legal frameworks relevant to organisational settings.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
