Full Sutton, York
Workshop-based | Full-time | Employed or Self-employed Considered
Rate of pay: £15.50 - £24.00 per hour (depending on experience)
James Langthorne designs, manufactures and installs completely bespoke cabinetry for private residential clients, interior designers and property developers across Yorkshire and the UK.
From kitchens and wardrobes to boot rooms, media walls and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, every project is unique, designed in collaboration with our clients and handcrafted to an exceptional standard.
After 16 years crafting bespoke cabinetry for other businesses, James launched the business in autumn 2025. Following a successful first year and continued growth, we're looking to expand our workshop team as we move into new premises in August.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing bespoke cabinetry business, working alongside James to produce exceptional cabinetry as we continue to invest in our workshop and expand our capacity.
We care about doing things properly, taking pride in our work and building lasting relationships with our clients. We're looking for someone who enjoys producing exceptional cabinetry, wants to be part of a small, supportive team and is excited to help shape the future of the business.
The Opportunity
Be part of your next chapter: Join a growing bespoke cabinetry business and play an important role as we continue to invest in our workshop, take on exciting projects and build for the future.
Interesting, varied projects: Manufacture a wide range of bespoke residential cabinetry, with every project offering something different.
Autonomy & ownership: Take responsibility for your work from manufacturing drawings through to completed cabinetry, with the trust and freedom to manage projects independently.
A modern workshop approach: We're building a workshop culture that values quality craftsmanship, accountability and flexibility. Traditional working patterns aren't the only option, and we're open to discussing compressed hours or flexible working arrangements for the right person.
Continued investment: Our new workshop has been designed around quality craftsmanship, with ongoing investment in machinery, equipment and processes as the business grows.
Long-term opportunity: Join a business with ambitious plans, where there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and grow alongside the team.
What You'll Get From Us
- The chance to help shape a growing business from the ground up.
- A modern, supportive workshop environment focused on quality over quantity.

- Employed or self-employed arrangements considered.

You'll work closely with James and the wider team to deliver high-quality cabinetry for private residential clients, interior designers and property developers.
This is a workshop-based manufacturing role.
What You'll Be Doing

- Ensuring all work is completed accurately, on schedule and ready for finishing.
- Supporting a workshop culture built around care, attention to detail and craftsmanship.

- Good problem-solving skills and a practical, positive approach.
- The ability to work independently, as well as part of a small team.
