Job Title: Warehouse Operative – Night Shift Loader

Employment Type: Full Time 40 Hour Working Week
Shift: 21:00 to 06:00
Salary: £27,500 rising to £28,500 after probation per annum, plus an attendance bonus of £300 per month.
Are you a confident warehouse operative who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment? P W Gates Distribution Ltd are looking for experienced warehouse operatives to join our Wixams at our – Bedford Depot.
Role Overview
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll be part of a highly active team, dealing with loading and unloading This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires precision, teamwork, and a strong awareness of safety at all times. Your ability to stay focused and organised during busy periods will directly contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our operation.
Key Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
· Loading and unloading trailers for various Ocado CFC’s
· PPT experience is a must as this is what you will be using to load & unload
· Labelling pallets
· Scanning freight/printing schedules
· Good communication & organisational skills
· Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area, promoting good housekeeping and efficient operations.
· Support with additional warehouse tasks running pallets if required, adapting to changing operational needs.
Essential Criteria
· Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to work accurately while handling freight.
· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and drivers.
· Willingness to support operational requirements.
Desirable Criteria
It would be an advantage if candidates also have:
· Previous experience working in a high-volume warehouse, transport, or distribution hub.
· Use of TMS Vigo system or computer work
· Familiarity with handheld scanners used within warehouse or logistics environments.
