About Philex

Philex is a dynamic and fast-moving electronics accessories manufacturer and distributor, supplying products to many of the UK’s leading DIY and FMCG retailers.

With our head office in Bedford and significant investment in manufacturing and logistics facilities in China, alongside offices in Hong Kong, we operate a truly international supply chain.

We are now offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to joinour Purchasing & Supply Chain team, playing a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and liaising closely with our Far East supplier base.

About The Role

This is primarily a field-based role but attending head office at least one day each week. You will be responsible for nurturing and developing business through our existing distribution/wholesale customer base, as well as seeking new business opportunities. You must be “hands-on” with a self-motivated, determined and positive attitude. You should be a confident negotiator with a proven sales track record, preferably within the electrical wholesale accessories industry.

MAIN TASKS

Manage and drive sales activity sales in line with company targets; including creating promotional activity
Manage and drive sales through holding regular meetings and keeping them updated on new developments relating to new products, promotional activity, pricing etc.
Updating pricing and contract pricing of customers, monitoring of sales orders for stock allocation etc. and ensure timely and efficient fulfillment
Meet with various Buying Groups and national Electrical Wholesalers to oversee annual trading terms, manage price files, keep updated on new product releases and promotional activity

THE PERSON

The successful candidates will:

Have a strong track record in sales, preferably to electrical wholesalers/distributors and knowledge of electrical consumer accessories.
Be able to demonstrate excellent commercial, negotiation, communication and presentation skills
Be self-motivated and have the desire to succeed
Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
Prepared to travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
