Overview
For over 20 years, our family-run and steadily growing grounds maintenance business has been committed to delivering high‑quality grounds maintenance to our 150+ sites across Sussex. We’re looking for reliable, hands-on Team Leaders to join our team and help us continue to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance across Sussex.
You’ll lead a small team, work outdoors, and take pride in neat, professional results. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, applying your horticultural knowledge and mechanical skills to keep our estate the best in Sussex.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance duties including tasks such as mowing, hedge cutting, strimming, shrub bed maintenance, weeding and leaf collection
- Operate power tools such as hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and other gardening equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform daily equipment checks and maintain vans, tools, and compound
- Lead a small team on scheduled site runs and drive company van to and from sites
- Complete basic digital records and required communications between teams
Requirements
- Holds a full, clean UK driving license
- Enjoys practical/physical and outdoor/all-weather work
- Has good general fitness to use machinery and work at pace
- Is always approachable, friendly, polite and kind to other
- Is naturally positive, helpful and thrives in supportive, small team environments
- Reliably shows up, on time, and takes pride in their appearance/workspace
- Takes the initiative to organise themselves and others
- Appreciates simplicity, getting things done and take pride in doing things properly
- Comfortable learning new technologies and using mobile apps
Grounds maintenance has traditionally excluded great people, but we are actively removing barriers for underrepresented groups and we welcome career changers from retail, hospitality, supervision, or desk-based roles with transferable leadership and organizational skills.
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
