Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roofer / Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves working on various roofing and carpentry projects, requiring a strong understanding of construction techniques and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing, carpentry, and general construction, with the ability to interpret schematics and operate a range of hand and power tools. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
- Perform carpentry tasks including framing, fitting, and finishing work as required
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate project progress
- Assist with plumbing, masonry, or other related tasks as needed for comprehensive project completion
- Follow safety protocols diligently to minimise hazards on-site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of quality workmanship
- Maintain organisation of tools and materials on-site for efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or general construction work is essential
- Familiarity with schematics, welding techniques, and fabrication processes is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for various construction tasks
- Experience working with plumbing or masonry is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively at heights or in confined spaces
- Prior exposure to working on large-scale construction sites with strict safety standards
