Davies Crane Hire Ltd is a well-established and respected crane hire company, providing high-quality lifting solutions across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Lift Supervisor / Slinger to join our team based from our Cardiff Depot.
The Role
The Lift Supervisor / Slinger is responsible for supervising and safely executing lifting operations in accordance with current UK legislation, industry best practice and company procedures. The role ensures that all lifting activities are carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standards while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all lifting operations in accordance with the approved plan.
- Coordinate lifting activities to ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.
- Sling, attach, secure and detach loads using the appropriate lifting accessories.
- Direct crane movements using recognised hand signals and radio communication.
- Verify that lifting accessories and equipment are suitable, correctly certified and in good condition before use.
- Report incidents, near misses, equipment defects and unsafe acts promptly.
- Work closely with clients, site management, appointed persons and crane operators to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively at all times.
Requirements
- Valid CPCS Lift Supervisor / Slinger card is essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of safe lifting operations and site procedures
- Reliable, flexible, and safety-focused approach to work
- Willingness to work across South Wales and travel as required

Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
