Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including seniors and those with specific health conditions such as dementia. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive and personalised care.

Duties

Provide personalized care and support to clients based on their individual needs and preferences.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility and accessing the local community.
Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including supporting them to appointments or social activities.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate professionals.
Administer medication as prescribed and keep accurate records of medication administration.
Implement behavior management strategies as needed to foster a supportive and positive environment that promotes clients' independence and quality of life.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided.
Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred but not required.
A caring and empathetic nature with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of clients.
Reliable and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A valid driving licence is preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
