We’re hiring a Fundraising Coordinator (Trusts & Foundations)
At the Andrew Simpson Foundation, our mission is to transform lives through sailing and watersports. Through our programmes, we help young people and their communities build confidence, develop skills, improve wellbeing, and connect with others.
We’re looking for an organised, motivated, and skilled Fundraising Coordinator to help secure the grant funding that enables us to deliver life-changing programmes across the UK.
About the Role
The primary focus of this role will be trusts and foundations fundraising, from researching suitable funding opportunities and preparing compelling applications to coordinating reporting requirements and building strong relationships with funders.
Working closely with our Head of Philanthropy, centres, and programme teams, you’ll gather the information, data, and stories that demonstrate the impact of our work and help secure the funding needed to support young people and communities through sailing, watersports, and maritime education.
This is a varied and collaborative role, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and sustainability of our programmes.
What You’ll Do
- Research and identify suitable trusts, foundations, and grant-funding opportunities.
- Develop high-quality funding applications, expressions of interest, and grant proposals.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, application deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective funders.
- Work with centres and programme teams to gather data, case studies, and evidence of impact.
- Prepare monitoring reports, impact reports, and funder updates.
- Maintain accurate fundraising and donor records using our CRM and fundraising systems.
- Support wider fundraising campaigns, appeals, events, and partnership opportunities where required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in fundraising, grant applications, bid writing, business development, or a related role.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive applications and reports.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- A commitment to the mission and values of the Andrew Simpson Foundation.
Desirable
- Experience securing grants from trusts and foundations.
- Experience within the charity, education, youth development, or sport-for-development sectors.
- Experience using a CRM or donor management system, such as Salesforce, Donorfy, Beacon, or Raiser’s Edge.
- An understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting.
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practice.
