Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a particular focus on baking exquisite pastries and desserts. This role is essential in ensuring that our offerings meet the highest standards of quality and presentation, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food production meets quality and safety standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new dessert items and seasonal specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry station, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production.
- Follow proper portion control guidelines to minimise waste while maintaining quality.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on pastry techniques and best practices.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production and preparation, particularly in baking.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on pastry-making techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within a kitchen environment.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail with a creative flair for presentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
