Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for the efficient processing of meat products, ensuring high-quality standards are met while maintaining a clean and organised work environment. This role is essential in supporting our restaurant's commitment to providing fresh and delicious meals to our customers. You will be asked to travel between our 3 main sites of Swanage , Wareham and Putlake The Farm.

Duties

Prepare and cut various types of meat according to specifications, ensuring portion control and presentation standards are met.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and effectively.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil meat orders for menu items, ensuring timely delivery of ingredients.
Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Keep the butchery area clean and organised, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Stay informed about new culinary trends related to meat preparation and presentation.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within the food production or restaurant industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cutting techniques.
A passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn new skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the business needs.
