Real People Solutions are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established organisation based in the beautiful New Forest.

This isn't a role where you'll spend every day behind a desk. You'll work across a diverse portfolio of services, partnering with managers, visiting sites throughout the district and helping create safer workplaces for employees, contractors and members of the public.

What's on Offer

Salary £35,646 - £43,236 (pay award pending)
Essential Car User Allowance: £1,239 per year (£103.25 per month)
Hybrid working - approximately 50% home based and 50% office/site based
Flexible working across a 37-hour week

The Role

Working closely with managers across multiple service areas, you'll provide professional health and safety advice while helping to develop and maintain a positive safety culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing practical Health & Safety advice across a wide range of services
Developing, reviewing and implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures
Carrying out workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments
Investigating accidents and incidents, including RIDDOR reporting where required
Delivering and coordinating Health & Safety training
Supporting managers with compliance and legislative requirements
Monitoring action plans and driving continuous improvement
Keeping up to date with changing legislation and implementing best practice
Attending meetings and working collaboratively with managers and Health & Safety representatives
Responding to urgent Health & Safety investigations across the district when required

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is confident providing practical Health & Safety guidance and enjoys working with people across a variety of operational environments.

Essential Requirements

NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
TechIOSH Membership (or equivalent)
Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice
Experience advising on Health & Safety within operational and/or office environments
Previous experience developing policies, procedures and risk assessments
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Good Microsoft 365 skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Access to your own vehicle

Desirable Experience

You'll stand out if you have experience within:

Local Government
Construction or Building Maintenance
Waste & Environmental Services
Grounds Maintenance
Vehicle Maintenance
Fire Safety

Additional qualifications such as a NEBOSH Diploma, CertIOSH or higher-level Health & Safety qualifications would be advantageous.
