Job Description - Senior Care Worker
Responsible To – Manager
To ensure the well-being and safety of all the residents within the home, whilst on shift.
To ensure that care is delivered as per the Residents individual plan of care.
To supervise care staff and other members of the team and to ensure that the service to the residents is delivered to the highest possible standard.
To ensure that the home’s Policies & Procedures are adhered to at all times by all staff.
To contact and liaise with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and to ensure that any directions given are followed and documented within the care plan.
Responsible for the safe storage, administration and handling of all medication within the home in accordance with standards and legislative requirements.
To ensure that the home remains as risk free for residents and visitors as is possible and that action is taken where risks to health & safety arise.
To complete all training as designated by the Manager.
To ensure that residents clothing and personal items are respected and cared for appropriately.
To ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times and if staff shortages develop that additional staff is arranged to meet the needs of the Home.
To complete, up-date and implement changes within a residents care plan as and when their care needs change and to ensure that all residents care plans are evaluated at least monthly.
To communicate effectively with all members of the team and to keep the Manager informed of issues arising.
To assist in inducting new employees into the home and ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the job required of them.
To ensure that all documentation is completed legibly.
To keep up to date with new procedures.
To ensure all appropriate documentation is completed throughout the process of admission and discharge of residents to the Home.
Reporting of all accidents/incidents and ensuring completion of all documentation.
This Job Description may be amended to facilitate changes as appropriate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.50 per hour

- providing care: 2 years (preferred)
- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
