Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This is a brand new site opening soon, you will have a big role to play in menu development and recruitment of the kitchen team, a team to call your own.

This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, and fostering a positive working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for hospitality excellence. This position offers an opportunity to manage a vibrant kitchen environment while contributing to the success of our establishment.

Duties

Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation, to ensure consistency and quality.
Manage and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering teamwork and efficiency.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and optimise costs.
Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance kitchen productivity and culinary offerings.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment or restaurant setting.
Extensive food production knowledge with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members.
Deep understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices in hospitality settings.
Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in menu development, culinary innovation, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service excellence.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional eager to lead a talented team while delivering exceptional dining experiences. We welcome applicants who are dedicated to excellence in hospitality management and culinary arts.
Opening of a new restaurant will be an advantage but not a priority.
Understanding of food trends and local products all of advantage.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
