Quantum Scholars is excited to work with an secondary school in Portsmouth, which is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join their school from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering an excellent opportunity for educators to inspire students and contribute to a school committed to academic excellence.

About the School: The school hiring are located in Portsmouth. They’re a forward-thinking school known for their supportive staff, strong leadership, and commitment to student progress. They also have great access to main public transport routes.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching: Deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students across Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14) and Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16), with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 (ages 16-18) depending on experience.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the science curriculum, ensuring it is stimulating, up-to-date, and aligns with the latest educational standards.
Assessment & Reporting: Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments. Provide detailed feedback to students and parents, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
Classroom Management: Create a positive, supportive, and disciplined classroom environment, fostering student engagement, respect, and a love for science.
Extracurricular Activities: Actively engage in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, revision sessions, or school science events, to enrich the student experience.
Professional Development: Participate in school training, attend staff meetings, and contribute to whole-school initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree in a scientific discipline (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology preferred).
Passion for science education and a strong desire to inspire students to achieve their best.
Strong subject knowledge across the core sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students, parents, and staff.
Classroom management skills with a proven ability to create a positive learning environment.
Experience in teaching (preferably at secondary school level) is desirable but not essential-newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to tea.
