Domestic Gas & Plumbing Engineer (Self-Employed Subcontractor)
Location: Based in Pontypridd, covering South Wales and Bristol
Pennington & White Gas Ltd is a growing domestic plumbing, heating and gas engineering company based in Pontypridd. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Domestic Gas & Plumbing Engineer to join our team on a self-employed subcontract basis.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys providing excellent customer service and wants to become part of a professional company with ambitious plans for the future.
The Role
The successful applicant will carry out a variety of domestic plumbing, heating and gas work, including:
- Boiler servicing
- Boiler breakdown diagnosis and repairs
- Landlord Gas Safety Certificates (CP12)
- Boiler installations and replacements
- Central heating installations and upgrades
- Radiator installations and replacements
- General plumbing repairs and maintenance First and second fix plumbing Bathroom installations (where required)
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Commissioning and testing of new installations
Essential Requirements
- Current Gas Safe Registration Valid ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 & HTR1 or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own van and professional tools
- Public Liability Insurance
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of workmanship
Desirable Skills
- Unvented Hot Water qualification (G3)
- Smart heating controls (Hive, Nest, Tado etc.)
- Bathroom installation experience Wall and floor tiling experience

- Competitive day rate of £220–£250 per day, depending on experience and qualifications
