Our role

At Central Power Services, the hire desk is at the centre of everything we do. It’s where customer commitments, logistics, and operational delivery come together. We’re looking for a Hire Desk Controller / Administrator to support the day-to-day running of our rental operations and help keep things moving smoothly.

This role suits someone who understands the pace and pressure of a busy hire or logistics environment and takes pride in keeping things organised, accurate and on track. You’ll be a key point of contact for customers, drivers, engineers -and internal teams, helping make sure jobs are planned properly and delivered as promised.

What the role involves

Processing hire orders from initial enquiry through to off-hire
Scheduling deliveries, collections and equipment movements
Liaising with customers to confirm availability, timings and requirements
Coordinating with transport, drivers and engineers to maximise efficiency
Raising contracts, purchase orders and hire documentation
Managing changes, queries and problem-solving in real time
Maintaining accurate system records and hire data

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in a hire desk, rental or logistics-based role
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence communicating with customers and internal teams
Ability to manage priorities in a fast-moving environment
Solid IT skills and experience using hire or transport systems
A proactive, reliable and practical approach to work
