Apprenticeship
The successful candidate will be enrolled at Tameside College to undertake a Level 2 and Level 3 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship. The role is 90% practical and 10% academic with the college aspect completed via your development officer/coach visiting each fortnight to record your progress. Expect a very busy and faced paced environment where the customer's satisfaction is our top priority. You'll be trained to become a manufacturer accredited Service Advisor, from booking appointments, greeting customers, organizing their visit, upsell, progress calls and taking payments. It's a rewarding and well paid career with progression to management training and future management opportunities.
Qualifications Overview (College)
Level 2 – Customer Service Practitioner
- Duration: 12 months + End Point Assessment
- Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications required, but learners must complete a skills scan to ensure the apprenticeship is a suitable match for their current ability and role.
- Knowledge, Skills & Behavior's (KSBs):
- Knowledge: Understanding your customers, business policies, knowing your product/service, regulatory responsibilities
- Skills: Communication, influencing skills, using systems and technology, managing performance
- Behavior's: Taking ownership, team working, adaptability, personal presentation, integrity
Level 3 – Customer Service Specialist
- Duration: 15 months + End Point Assessment
- Entry Requirements: Typically suitable for those in a more complex or supervisory customer-facing role. A skills scan is used to confirm suitability.
- Knowledge, Skills & Behavior's (KSBs):
- Knowledge: Business knowledge and understanding, customer journey, service culture, continuous improvement
- Skills: Problem solving, service delivery improvement, effective use of CRM and other systems, mentoring colleagues
- Behavior's: Proactive attitude, professionalism, ownership, responsibility for outcomes, positive role modelling

Summary
We are seeking an Apprentice Service Advisor to join our team at OMC Motor Group. In this role, you will be the vital link between our customers and the service department, ensuring that all customer needs are met with exceptional service. Your contributions will help uphold our values of respect, honesty, and integrity while enhancing the overall customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle service and repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Schedule service appointments and manage the workflow of the service department.
- Assist customers in understanding their vehicle's needs and recommend appropriate services.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain records of services provided.
- Upsell additional services or products that may benefit the customer’s vehicle.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others.
- Some mechanical knowledge (not essential) to effectively communicate with customers about their vehicle needs.
- Experience in customer facing role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of Grade 4 in Math's, English and Sciences is the minimum requirement.
- A full and valid UK Driving licence is essential
