We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our supportive Health, Safety & Sustainability team. In this role, you will use your expert knowledge, communication skills, and proactive approach to fire safety to help maintain a safe learning environment and buildings for all our staff and learners.
Lead Safety Compliance: Develop, conduct, and review fire risk assessments across our complex, multi-site organisation to identify hazards and implement effective control measures. Ensure effective detection and fire prevention within buildings.
Coordinate Emergency Planning: Ensure a fire safety arrangements are in place to accommodate everyone across all our college sites including personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPs)
Provide Expert Guidance: Act as a professional point of contact for staff, learners, contractors and enforcement bodies . Offering clear advice, technical insights into fire stopping and building adaptations and fire safety training.
Investigate & Report: Conduct thorough internal audits and fire-related incident investigations, producing accurate reports and actionable recommendations to prevent future risks.
Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years' proven experience managing fire safety, identifying hazards, and implementing fire strategies within a complex, multi-site organisation.
Qualifications: A recognised Level 6 (degree-level) fire safety qualification or equivalent, alongside a strong command of up-to-date fire safety legislation.
Mobility & Licensing: A valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle to effectively cover and travel between all college sites.
