Full job description

We are looking for a commercially driven and creative Buyer to take ownership of the Upholstery category at Rowen Homes. This role is responsible for developing a trend-led, commercially strong and brand-aligned upholstery range, with a focus on product development, supplier relationships, quality, margin and customer appeal.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of our upholstery offer, working closely with suppliers to develop new products, improve existing lines and bring fresh ideas to market. This role will suit someone with strong buying experience within furniture, interiors or homeware, who understands how to balance creativity, commerciality and operational delivery.

Rowen Homes is part of Rowen Group, operating alongside Pink Boutique. Together, we are fast-paced, ambitious brands specialising in luxury homewares, interiors and fashion, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

Own and develop the Upholstery category, ensuring the range is commercially strong, trend-led and aligned to the Rowen Homes brand
Source and develop new upholstery products, including sofas, chairs, footstools, beds and other upholstered furniture
Work closely with suppliers on product development, fabric options, finishes, design details, quality standards and pricing
Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and international suppliers
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms and supplier agreements
Review existing ranges, identifying opportunities to improve performance, quality, margin and customer appeal
Monitor sales performance, margin, stock levels and customer feedback to support buying decisions
Research market trends, competitor activity and customer preferences within upholstery, furniture and interiors
Develop new collections and present product ranges to senior stakeholders
Work closely with Merchandising to forecast demand, manage stock levels and support availability
Partner with Creative, Marketing, Ecommerce and Fulfilment teams to ensure product launches are delivered effectively
Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, compliance and communication
Resolve supply chain issues including delays, shortages, quality concerns and product specification queries
Visit suppliers, factories and trade shows where required
Ensure products meet relevant UK regulations, labelling requirements and compliance standards

What you will bring

Buying experience within furniture, homeware, interiors or a related retail category
Upholstery, furniture or product development experience would be beneficial
Strong commercial awareness, including margin, pricing and product performance
Confident supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
Experience sourcing from UK and overseas suppliers
Good understanding of fabrics, finishes, construction and furniture quality standards
Strong analytical skills, with confidence using Excel and sales data
Excellent awareness of home, furniture and interiors trends
Highly organised, detail focused and able to manage multiple priorities
Confident working across buying, merchandising, ecommerce, creative and fulfilment teams
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
Proactive, solutions focused and comfortable owning a key category
