Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewing Machinist to join our Covers department. In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality swimming pool covers. Your experience will ensure that each piece meets our rigorous standards for craftsmanship, durability, and precision.

Responsibilities

To manufacture products in accordance with instructions detailed on works orders and approved drawings.
Operate various industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) such as overlock and flatbed machines to manufacture swimming pool covers.
To work with a variety of materials and threads, using various sewing techniques such as lock stitching and hemming.
Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring seams are secure, stitches are even, and overall craftsmanship meets company standards.
Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Maintain a clean and organised and efficient workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills Required

Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) in a manufacturing or textile environment.
Strong sewing skills with an eye for detail and quality control
Ability to understand works orders and drawings.

Hours/Benefits

6 month temporary contract. Possibility of a permanent contract on successful completion of the temporary contract.
Rate of pay from £13.00 per hour dependent upon experience
39 hours per week - 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1pm Friday.
15 minute paid morning tea break
