Part-Time Accounts Administrator

Mark Berry Plumbing & Heating Ltd

Permanent | Part-Time | 16–24 hours per week

About the Role

Mark Berry Plumbing & Heating Ltd is looking for an experienced and organised Accounts Administrator to take responsibility for the day-to-day accounts function within our established plumbing and heating business.

This is a hands-on accounts role working as part of our friendly office team of three.

We are looking for someone with practical accounts experience who is confident working independently with Xero, VAT returns and CIS.

The position is available for approximately 16–24 hours per week, ideally across 2-3days. We are happy to discuss the working pattern with the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day company accounts using Xero
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Manage CIS submissions and reconciliations
Raise sales invoices and maintain the sales ledger
Process purchase invoices and maintain the purchase ledger
Carry out bank reconciliations
Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with credit control
Monitor cashflow and maintain accurate financial records
Liaise with our external accountants as required
Support the wider office team where necessary

About You

Essential:

Previous experience in an accounts/bookkeeping role
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience preparing VAT returns
Confident managing sales and purchase ledgers
Experience carrying out bank reconciliations
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Able to work independently and as part of a small team

Desirable:

AAT qualification or similar accounting/bookkeeping qualification
Experience within construction, plumbing, heating or a trade-based business
Previous experience working within an SME
