Full job description

Job Description – Recruitment Officer

Role Purpose

The Recruitment Officer will play a key role in ensuring the Company attracts, recruits and retains compliant, safe and well-trained staff within a regulated care environment. The main focus of the role is to implement and maintain robust safe recruitment practices with a strong emphasis on safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

The postholder will oversee the full recruitment lifecycle. They will maintain accurate HR and records and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards set by the Care Quality Commission and the UK Home Office. This role requires a proactive and highly organised individual who has strong attention to detail. Some HR experience including sponsorship experience is required for this role. It also requires a clear commitment to compliance, safeguarding, and the delivery of high-quality care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities to include :

Manage the full end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring all activities align with safer recruitment principles and safeguarding standards
Carry out pre-employment checks, including references, employment history verification, and right-to-work checks
Ensure safer recruitment compliance by identifying gaps in employment, verifying candidate suitability, and maintaining robust audit trails
Oversee and process Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) applications and renewals in line with safeguarding requirements
Act as the Level 2 user on the Company Sponsor Management System (SMS) to assist with the administration and management of Certificates of Sponsorship and maintain compliance via the Home Office.
Maintain and update training and supervision spreadsheets and monitor non-compliance using RAG systems.
Ensure all HR records and employee data are accurate, up to date, and audit-ready
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation in line with Care Quality Commission and Home Office standards
Identify, report, and follow up on any areas of non-compliance relating to recruitment, training, or staff documentation
Promote a culture of safe recruitment and continuous improvement through hiring and training practices
Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection standards are upheld across all HR processes
Provide general HR administrative support and act as a point of contact for staff queries relating to recruitment and training
