Software Developer – TMS (Thom Micro Systems)

Location: Larbert, Stirlingshire (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office)
Experience: Recent Graduate to 5 Years' Experience
Type: Full Time, Permanent

Our flagship product, Elite Contract Costing, is a market-leading solution used by construction and contracting businesses throughout the UK to manage contracts, costs, purchasing, billing, reporting, and profitability. The software has evolved continuously over decades, embracing new technologies while remaining at the heart of our customers' operations.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Software Developer to join our team and help shape the future of Elite Contract Costing.

From discussing new ideas with colleagues and customers, to designing solutions, writing code, testing, releasing, and supporting deployments, you'll see your work make a genuine impact. We’re more interested in how you approach problems than whether you’ve worked with a particular technology before so if you're curious, analytical, and enjoy understanding how customers’ businesses work, then this could be the perfect role for you.

What You'll Be Doing

· Developing and enhancing Elite Contract Costing

· Designing and implementing new features

· Working closely with colleagues to understand business requirements

· Troubleshooting technical issues and communicating solutions to colleagues and customers.

· Participating in code reviews and technical discussions

· Contributing ideas that improve both the product and development processes

· Learning new technologies and techniques as our platform evolves

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills

· Strong software development aptitude

*Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

* Ability to take full responsibility for assigned tasks

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. A desire to learn and continuously improve

* Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work

Experience

We welcome applications from:

* Recent graduates with a relevant degree and strong programming ability

* Developers with a few years of commercial experience

* Self-motivated individuals who can demonstrate technical ability and a passion for software development

Technologies We Use

Experience with some of the following would be beneficial, but is not essential:

* C#

* VB.NET

* Microsoft SQL Server

* Blazor

* Bootstrap and modern web technologies

* Microsoft Azure
