- Performs double-entry accrual accounting work to maintain journals and ledgers. Ensures all deposits from activities are received. Counts balances, and consolidates cash, negotiable instruments, and credit card receipts. Transports deposits to a military banking facility.
- Operates computerized systems to input accounting data. Resolves discrepancies by applying Air Force regulations and cash management procedures.
- Maintains the central change fund for squadron cash requirements. Balances the fund daily and tracks all purchases.
- Serves as the focal point for cash/credit card deposits. Prepares reports, worksheets, and ledgers on accounts and payroll.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME):
- Must have experience in double-entry accounting procedures and techniques;
- Must have knowledge of procedures used to enter, modify, and delete information in an automated general ledger system;
- Must have experience analyzing the interrelationships of accounts affected by varied transactions.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
